Details about the Beaver Falls Hit and Run

The Pittsburg Post-Gazette is reporting that the pedestrian who was hit and then dragged by an SUV on Sunday in Beaver Falls is still in critical condition at UPMC Presbyterian. The suspect who apparently drove from the scene of the accident is now in Beaver County Jail being held on various charges.

The accident reportedly happened at about 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, when an SUV driving along the 1300 block of 7th Avenue swerved off the road, hit a parking meter, and then hit a 22-year-old male, who was then dragged by the vehicle about 20 feet. At this time, the identity of the victim has not been released by the Beaver Falls Police Department.

Captain John DeLuca of the police department did say that the SUV was found with severe front-end damage in an alley about three blocks away from where the accident took place.

The driver of the vehicle, 34-year-old Anthony Darwin, was arrested and booked on charges of causing an accident involving death or personal injury, aggravated assault by a vehicle, damage to unattended vehicle or property, and for driving with either a suspended or revoked license.
