One person was hit and critically injured by a police vehicle in Phoenix.

Details about the Police-Vehicle Accident

Multiple sources are reporting that a pedestrian was sent to the hospital in extremely critical condition after being hit by a marked Phoenix Police Department vehicle, according to Sergeant Vincent Lewis.

Police have stated that the accident apparently happened at about 4 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Seventh Street and Deer Valley Road. The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries, where he remains in critical condition.

At this time, Seventh Street remains closed from Deer Valley to Pinnacle Peak Roads during the remainder of the investigation. Police have not revealed the name of the victim at this time, but he is described as having been in his 20s. An investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing at this time.
