A woman who was hit by a vehicle in Phoenix was killed in the accident.

Details about the Fatal Pedestrian Accident

12 News is reporting that a woman was hit and killed by a vehicle near the intersection of 39th Avenue and McDowell Road, according to police.

The accident reportedly happened just after 5 a.m. Monday morning. Police have indicated that the woman was walking when she was hit by a vehicle that was heading east at the timer of the accident. The driver of the vehicle who hit the woman did stop to render aid.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene of the accident, the woman was taken to the hospital where she later died, according to police. An investigation into the circumstances and the cause of the accident remains ongoing at this time.
