Physician Sentenced to Life In Prison For Hepatitis C Outbreak
Dipak Desai, a 63 year-old Las Vegas, Nevada physician, was sentenced to life in prison for infecting patients with hepatitis C after re-using syringes.

Reuters reports that Desai was convicted of 27 criminal counts including second-degree murder, insurance fraud, negligence resulting in substantial bodily harm and misdemeanor counts of theft and taking money under false pretenses.
The infections of Hepatitis C were traced back to nine patients, one of whom has died, and found that an additional 105 people might have been infected.
