Pilgrim’s Pride Employee Killed on the Job
About the Mt. Pleasant Workplace Accident
KETK reports that a 55-year-old employee was found unconscious by another worker in the ice room of the Pilgrim’s Pride production plant in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.
CPR was performed on the unconscious employee who was then transported to an area hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly after by Justice of the Peace Judge Kay McNutt.
The name of the deceased worker has not been released, and the cause of death is currently unknown. An autopsy has been scheduled.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has opened an investigation into the incident.
