Important Information about Helicopter Accidents
According to an article in Slate, there are dozens of wrongful deaths of people involved in helicopter crashes every year in the United States. The article also gives a few reasons as to why helicopters have a higher crash rate than small planes:
- Helicopters are used for riskier operations – they can land in places that airplanes cannot, making landing conditions unpredictable.
- Helicopters generally have more moving parts than airplanes.
- For beginning pilots, helicopters are trickier to handle than airplanes.
