A police officer in Texas was killed in an accident on Sunday.

Details about the Police Accident

KWTX is reporting that a police officer from the Houston area was killed when his patrol vehicle was hit by another vehicle when he was responding to a call. According to the Pearland police department, Officer Endy Ekpanya died on Sunday at a hospital in which he was transported to after the accident.

A statement from the Pearland police department stated that the driver of the second vehicle was taken to the hospital with injuries not believed to have been life-threatening. The name of the driver was not immediately released.

Authorities have said that Ekpanya joined the Pearland Police Department in 2015, and was sent on a non-emergency call on Sunday when his patrol car was struck. The second vehicle crossed over the middle lanes and hit the patrol car. No other details have been released at this time.
