Roller Shades Recalled Due to Risk of Injury

WindowTex have issued a recall on Custom Roller Shades because the steel pin inside the idler on the shades can dislodge.

This can cause the shade to fall from the mounting bracket and cause injury to the consumer. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall.

Roller Shades Recall Information

Information below provided by the US CPSC:

  • The recall is on the WindowTex custom-made fabric roller window shades that are raised and lowered by a side-mounted chain. There is an idler that contains a steel pin in the roller tube.
  • The roller shades in this recall have idlers with model number D15T with 1½-inch roller tube and model number D20T with a 2-inch roller tube. 
  • There have been no injuries but there have been 6 cases of the steel pin dislodging and causing shades to fall.
  • The recalled roller shades were sold at WindowTex from April 2014 through June 2014 for between $100 and $500.They were manufactured by Windowcraft Inc. dba. WindowTex of Garden City Park, NY.
