San Antonio Benefit Raises Funds for Burn Victim

According to KSAT 12, the Doiron family will hold a “Miracle for Adam Benefit” on Saturday, November 15th for their son, Adam, who was severely burned in a 18-wheeler accident that occurred last September.

About the Trucking Accident

Adam Doiron, 29, was riding in the passenger seat of a tractor-trailer when the vehicle crashed, causing it to set fire.

Adam suffered third and fourth-degree burns that consumed a total of 92 percent of his body. The driver did not survive the accident.

Adam’s condition has steadily improved after withstanding fifteen surgeries and undergoing hours of physical therapy every day. He and his family will continue to reside at the Galveston University of Texas Medical branch for the remainder of his recovery.

Miracle for Adam Benefit Details

Adam’s family will hold a “Miracle for Adam Benefit” on Saturday, November 15th to raise money for immediate injury-related expenses. The event will take place in San Antonio, Texas at 422 Chestnut Street.

The Doiron’s hope to create a family-friendly atmosphere with music, barbecue and silent auction.

Burn Injury Details

According to the American Burn Association:

  • 450,000 burn injuries received medical treatment in 2013.
  • Vehicle crash fires caused 300 deaths last year.
  • 3,400 deaths due to fire, burns and/or smoke inhalation occur every year.
  • 40,000 individuals were hospitalized in 2013 for burn related injuries.
