Details of the Fatal San Antonio Crash

According to the San Antonio Express-News, 27-year-old Juan Mendoza was taken into custody around 11 pm Thursday on murder charges.

Police claim that Mendoza was drunk, speeding, and ran a red light before colliding with a vehicle carrying Juan Sandoval at the intersection of Old Highway 90 and 36th street. Sandoval was killed in the accident and two others were injured.

The accident marks Mendoza’s third DWI offense which makes the charge a felony. Further, because Sandoval killed Mendoza while committing another felony, police were able to charge Mendoza with felony murder in place of manslaughter.
