San Antonio Man Pleads Guilty to Intoxication Manslaughter

According to the San Antonio Express News, Jeffrey Theisen, 30, has pled guilty to charges of intoxication manslaughter relating to a drunk driving accident. It is now up to a jury to decide what his punishment will be.

About the San Antonio DWI Accident

  • The accident occurred around 4 a.m. on December 10, 2011.
  • Christina Renee Flores, 43, received a call from her boyfriend, Juan Jose Gomez, asking her to pick him up after he had an argument with his brother.
  • While traveling along I-37 in San Antonio, the car carrying Ms. Flores and Mr. Gomez was struck head on by Theisen’s vehicle which was traveling the wrong way.
  • Theisen’s blood alcohol content level was revealed to be .18, more than two times the legal limit, when a blood sample was drawn three hours after the accident occurred.

The DWI Driver Pleads Guilty

  • Jeffrey Theisen pled guilty to intoxication manslaughter in regards to the death of Mr. Flores.
  • The jury is in the process of deciding a sentence for Theisen. The punishments include up to 20 years in prison.
  • The first testimony the jury heard was that of Juan Gomez recalling the night of the accident.
