San Antonio Pedestrian Hit by Truck on Monday

An 18-year-old woman was sent to the hospital after being hit by a truck.

Details about the Pedestrian Accident

KSAT 12 News is reporting that an 18-year-old woman was hit by a pickup truck as she was attempting to run across the street, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Police have further indicated that the accident happened just before 9:30 p.m. on the 1800 block of Horal Street, which is found on the west side of the city. Witnesses of the accident reported to police that they saw a colored truck at the scene. 

About two hours later, the driver of the truck that hit the woman turned herself in to police. According to police, the teenager was not in a crosswalk at the time of the accident. The driver of the truck currently faces multiple charges of failing to stop and render aid to the victim.

The victim was taken to University Hospital to be treated for her injuries sustained in the accident.

An investigation into the accident remains ongoing at this time.
