San Antonio Vets among Midland Train Crash Victims

A San Antonio man was among the four veterans killed in a tragic train accident at the Veteran’s Day parade in Midland, Texas last week, (November 15, 2012.) Another San Antonio man, Marine Staff Sgt. Mark Juarez, was injured in the accident.

During the parade, a train crashed into one of the trailers carrying veterans, killing four and injuring 17. The accident remains under investigation.

  • Michael was wounded multiple times and received two Purple Heart awards.
  • According to reports, Michael saved his wife’s life by pushing her off the float before the impact.

Marine Staff Sergeant Mark Juarez of San Antonio Injured in Train Crash

  • Marine Staff Sergeant Mark Juarez of San Antonio was injured in the accident.
  • Juarez served in Afghanistan and was injured two years ago when he was shot in the head by a Sniper.
  • Juarez was reportedly released from the hospital last Friday.
