A San Antonio woman is in serious condition after being hit by a vehicle.

Details about the Pedestrian Accident

KENS 5 News is reporting that a woman was hit by a Jeep on Austin Highway and is currently in the hospital in serious condition. According to police, they arrived at the scene of the accident and found a man holding a knife after the woman he was with was hit by the Jeep.

The accident happened on the 2500 block of Austin Highway on Wednesday morning just past Perrin Beitel. Police have further revealed that a vehicle was traveling in the southbound lane of Austin Highway and was allowing the couple to cross the street. Another vehicle – a Jeep – that was traveling in the right lane was unable to see the couple and hit the female on the right side of her body.

The 48-year-old woman was taken to the San Antonio Military Medical Center in serious condition. Witnesses who saw the accident say that the man pulled out a knife after the accident but did not threaten anyone.

Police apprehended the man but he will not face any charges. The man stated that the knife fell out of his pocket during the accident and that he was just picking it up from the ground.

The driver of the Jeep who hit the woman did remain at the scene of the accident.
