A female pedestrian was hit by a truck after the truck was involved in a collision.

Details about the Pedestrian Accident

The San Antonio Express-News is reporting that a woman who was sitting at a bus stop was hit by a truck on Wednesday night after a collision on the east side of the city.

According to Sergeant Roy Bernal of the San Antonio Police Department, the accident happened at about 8:15 p.m. at the intersection of East Houston Street and New Braunfels Avenue. The sergeant further stated that a Honda CRV was attempting to turn left from one of the main lanes on New Braunfels onto Houston.

The driver did not realize that there was a separate turn lane that was sanctioned off by a concrete median with a protected arrow, which was still red when he turned into the intersection.

A truck that was heading south on New Braunfels slammed into the Honda SUV. After the collision, the truck continued on, hitting a woman in her 30s who was sitting at a nearby bus stop.

The woman was trapped under the vehicle until first responders were able to rescue her. The woman was then taken to the San Antonio Military Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported in the accident.
