A female pedestrian was hit and killed in San Jose on Monday.

Details about the Fatal Pedestrian Accident

KRON 4 News in San Jose is reporting that a 31-year-old woman from San Jose was hit and killed by a vehicle early on Monday morning in San Jose near Los Gatos, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident reportedly happened at about 5:09 a.m. on the northbound lanes of Highway 85 near the state Highway 17 connector ramp, according to police.

The California Highway Patrol had received calls of a female pedestrian walking along the northbound lanes of Highway 85 wearing a backpack and carrying a flashlight. While the woman was walking along the highway, she was hit by a vehicle just before the connector ramp. A second vehicle then hit the pedestrian, bringing her body onto the ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The ramp was closed for about three hours while investigators looked into the circumstances of the accident.

The two vehicles that hit the woman remained at the scene and fully cooperated with investigators. The victim has yet to be identified.
