SAPD Veteran Arrested for DWI

Early Tuesday morning, an 18-year veteran of the San Antonio Police Department was arrested for driving while intoxicated following an accident at Interstate.

About the Arrest 

According to the San Antonio Express-News, officers received a report of a crash at the intersection of Interstate 35 and GeorgeBeach Boulevard around 3 a.m. Tuesday. Upon responding they found the driver was an officer with the San Antonio Police Department.

The veteran was identified as 50-year-old Phillip Luke, who was off-duty and in his personal vehicle.

The officers working the scene determined that he showed signs of impairment placed him under arrest. Luke has been placed on administrative leave pending a full investigation.
