Scag Power Recalls Mowers – Fire Hazard
Fires Reported in Connection with Faulty Mowers
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Scag Power Equipment has received five reports of gas tank leaks on the mowers. No injuries or deaths have been reported.
If you are a Consumer of this product you should immediately stop using these recalled lawn mowers and contact Scag Power Equipment or an authorized dealer for a free repair.

Description of the Recalled Mowers
Information Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC):
- This recent recall involves two models of the Liberty-Z zero-turn lawn mowers; model SZL48-22KT with serial numbers K7100001 through K7102353 and model SZL52-24KT with serial numbers K7200001 through K7202020.
- These mowers were being sold at Scag Power Equipment authorized dealers nationwide from October 2014 through May 2015 for about $4,500.
- These mowers were manufactured in the United States by Scag Power Equipment, a division of Metalcraft of Maryville, of Maryville, Wisc.
- The mowers have been said to possibly leak at the gas tank which in turn may cause a life threatening fire.
