School Bus Accident Sends Five to Hospital

Five students were injured in a school bus accident in Suffolk.

13 News Now is reporting that five students were taken to the hospital after an accident involving school bus from Suffolk on Thursday morning.

The accident initially happened at 7 a.m. at the intersection of Bennetts Pasture Road and Lee Farm lane. According to a Suffolk spokeswoman, Diana Klink, the driver of a Toyota pulled out in front of the school bus and was t-boned.

There were a total of 39 students from John Yeates Middle School on the bus at the time of the accident. Although no injuries were initially reported, all of the students and the drivers of the bus and the Toyota all received an emergency medical screening.

Even though there were no complaints of injuries initially, five of the students later complained of injuries and were taken to the hospital, according to the spokeswoman.

The driver of the Toyota that was hit by the school bus has been charged with reckless driving.
