School Buses Recalled- Wheelchair Fall Hazard

Laura Hosford-Yunker5 years ago

On May 28, 2012 Daimler Trucks of North America recalled nearly 1,000 Safe-T-Liner School Buses due to a fall hazard involving the wheel chair lifts.

Malfunctioning Wheel Chair Lifts

According to the official recall notice, these school buses pose a serious fall risk because the roll stops of the wheel chair lift can bend or become misaligned. If this occurs when the occupant is elevated he or she may fall and sustain serious injuries.
