A woman who was riding a scooter was killed in an accident in Campbell.

Details about the Fatal Scooter Accident

CBS SF News is reporting that a woman who was riding a scooter was killed on Saturday afternoon in Campbell after the scooter hit a retaining wall, which caused the woman to be ejected from the vehicle.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was first reported at about 2:18 p.m. on an onramp that connects the northbound Winchester Boulevard with the southbound San Thomas Expressway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The woman was operating a Yamaha scooter when she somehow lost control of the scooter, according to a spokesman from the California Highway Patrol.

After losing control of the scooter, the woman hit a retaining wall on the onramp. She was then ejected from the scooter and flew over the ramp, landing 80 feet below near train tracks along Winchester Boulevard.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
