Details about the Multiple-Vehicle Accident

Multiple sources are reporting that a total of seven people, including four children, were among those who were injured when, according to police, an SUV crossed over the median on Interstate 95 in Georgetown and collided head-on with another vehicle.

According to Massachusetts State Police, a 25-year-old woman drove her SUV from the northbound lanes on the interstate onto the southbound side of the roadway at about 1:40 p.m. on Sunday afternoon and hit another vehicle that was carrying a father, mother, and their four children.

The mother in the other vehicle suffered significant neck and head injuries and was taken to Tufts Medical Center in Boston via helicopter. The father and the children in the vehicle were taken to Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport.

Massachusetts State Police have further stated that the driver of the SUV was also taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
