Seven people were injured when an SUV overturned on Route 50 in Worcester.

Multiple sources are reporting that seven people were injured when the sport utility vehicle they were traveling in overturned into a ditch on Monday afternoon in Worcester County in Maryland, according to a state police report.

According to the report, the accident happened at about 4 p.m. on March 28.

The police further stated that the Toyota SUV, which was being driven by 59-year-old Thomas Steven Mahalyi, of Wheatland, California, was heading east on Route 50 in the area of Bell Road when the vehicle left the road, hit a ditch, and then overturned.

The seven people in the vehicle at the time of the accident, including the driver, 57-year-old Theresa R. Mahalyi, and five children were transported to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury via ambulance.

The ages and the names of the children have not been identified at this time.

According to police, the accident currently remains under investigation.
