According to the New York Post, a woman was killed last Thursday morning in Brooklyn after a construction loader clearing snow smashed into her vehicle.

About the Fatal Brooklyn Accident

“He almost hit me and my wife yesterday as we were going across the street; he was a speed demon and I thought he was going to kill somebody one day and look what happens.” – Brooklyn resident Marvin Lopez, 43 as published by the New York Post

Min Lin, 36, was pronounced dead on arrival at Maimonides Medical Center after she was struck by a construction loader being used to clear snow.

She was nine months pregnant with a baby boy – the child was delivered by Caesarean section and is listed in critical condition.

It was around 10:45 am when the tragedy struck. Lin and her husband were loading groceries in the trunk of their vehicle when she was struck by the front loader being driven by a local storeowner.

A local neighbor, Marvin Lopez, who lives across the street from the supermarket, said the 42-year-old storeowner that hit Lin had a history of driving recklessly.

  • In the Bronx, EMS workers responded to an accident in which a 5-year-old girl fell from a third-floor window as she tried to clear snow from an air-conditioning unit.
  • Another weather related incident occurred in Brooklyn after a gangway at the Greenport ferry terminal collapsed nearly dropping a dozen people into the East River.
