Details about the Fatal Motorcycle Accident

The Army Times is reporting that a soldier was killed in a motorcycle accident that happened in Anchorage over the weekend, according to Army officials.

Army officials have reported that 31-year-old Staff Sergeant Maurice O. Tucker, who was a platoon sergeant with 4th Brigade Combat Team Airborne, 25th Infantry Division, was riding with two other soldier at about 7:50 p.m.

Tucker was heading south of Minnesota Driver and was noted as having stopped abruptly at the traffic light on Spenard Road, according to the Anchorage Police Department. Tucker then took off at a high rate of speed when the light turned green, causing him to lose control of the motorcycle. He was thrown from the bike and hit a light post.

Tucker was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency first responders.
