Details about the Speeding Accident on the Gulf Freeway

KRTK News is reporting about an accident on the Gulf Freeway that happened just before Loop 610 on Friday morning.

According to police, the accident involved two vehicles, with one of them being so severely damaged, that the Jaws of Life had to be used to cut the two people out of the car and free them.

Police told KRTK News that the accident may have been caused by the two vehicles as they were racing down the Gulf Freeway.

One of the vehicles hit another car and that’s what started the accident. Houston Police say that when they arrived, two people tried to flee the scene on foot, but they were quickly taken into custody and are currently being questioned by police.

The accident shut down the Gulf Freeway, while traffic investigators were on the road looking into the circumstances of the accident.

The two people that were in the damaged car that had to be cut free were taken to the Texas Medical Center. The condition of the two in the hospital is currently unknown at this time.
