Stahlbush Island Farms Green Beans Recalled – Potential Contamination

Stahlbush Island Farms has recalled their 10 oz. Green Bean packages due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination resulting in a risk of serious or fatal infections.

About the Green Bean Recall

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Stahlbush Island Farms recalled this product after they were notified that their supplier recalled the green beans. The retail packages of the Green Beans contain possible contamination of Listeria Monocytogenes, which can cause serious or fatal infections in those with weak immune systems such as young children and frail or elderly people.

Those who are healthy may experience high fever, severe headache, stiffness, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria infection may also cause miscarriages or stillbirth among pregnant women. Stahlbush urges those who purchased the IQF green beans to immediately stop consuming them and return packages to where they were purchased for a full refund.

Description of Recalled Green Beans

The following information was provided by the FDA:

  • Stahlbush Island Farms IQF Green Beans were packaged in 10 oz. packages by a co-packer, and sold as frozen.
  • Packages were distributed throughout the United States and Canada and contain the UPC code 6 38882 00053 7.
  • No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled product. Also no other Stahlbush products have been affected by this recall.
