Suspected Drunk Driver Blames Crash on Opossum

Authorities San Antonio arrived to the scene of a suspected drunk driving accident where the driver claimed he crashed into a house trying to avoid an opossum

Details of the San Antonio Accident

Last Tuesday, a man in his 20’s was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Emergency officials were called to 6200 block of Ridgebrook Street, San Antonio at 11:59 pm when a man hit a parked car in the street, ran into a yard, hit another car, and crashed into a garage door.

The driver of the vehicle claims that an opossum had run into the road, so he had swerved to miss the animal; however, alcohol had been found in the man’s vehicle.

Fortunately, no one was injured in this accident, but the man was still arrested on suspicion of DWI.

    • One person was killed in an auto accident in Texas every 2 hours and 36 minutes.

    • A reportable crash occurred every 71 seconds.
