Suspected Drunk Driver Hits NJ Transit Bus, Injures 8

A drunk driver collided into an New Jersey Transit bus early Friday morning, leaving at least eight people injured.

About the New Jersey Accident

According to WNBC-4, the driver was badly injured but tried to flee the scene on foot. He was soon arrested at a nearby gas station – his blood alcohol content was more than double the legal limit.

Six bus riders and the passenger of the vehicle were also injured, several critically. The bus driver was said to be uninjured but was taken to the hospital to be checked.

The intersection remained closed early Friday. The crash is being investigated by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, according to the Associated Press.
