Destiny Baker2 years ago

18-year-old Roberto Reyes Jr. has been charged with intoxication manslaughter following a single vehicle crash in Houston’s Greenspoint area that killed his 15-year-old passenger.

About the Fatal Houston Accident

KPRC reports the Reyes was “swangin’” when he lost control of his Honda Civic and crashed into a fence and another car before overturning in the 10600 block of Airline Road around 9:30 pm Sunday.

“Swangin’” is a slang term describing the act of swerving a car in and out of multiple lanes of traffic on a roadway.

15-year-old Fernanda Macias was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. At least three others were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Reyes failed a field sobriety test conducted at the scene of the crash, and deputies reported that a marijuana pipe and measuring scale were both found in the crashed vehicle. Reyes was also driving without a license.
