Teen Hospitalized after San Antonio Hit and Run

A San Antonio teenager was critically injured in a hit and run accident during the overnight hours.

KSAT 12 News in San Antonio is reporting that a 17-year-old girl is currently in critical condition after an overnight hit and run accident, San Antonio police said on Thursday.

The San Antonio police further indicated that the accident happened just after 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of North Zarzamora and West Poplar Street on the west side of the city. Police say that an officer was following a truck on Interstate 10 believed to have been stolen when the truck exited Colorado Street before hitting the teenager’s small SUV.

The truck drove away from the scene of the accident. A helicopter was then called in to help find the vehicle, which was lost when the vehicle went under a highway.

The girl was transported to the hospital via EMS. An investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains ongoing.
