Destiny Baker2 years ago

A teenager was killed on the job Tuesday morning after being struck by a crane boom at a Cape Girardeau County job site.

Details of the Fatal Construction Accident

According to KFVS, 16-year-old Tristan James Wood was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 11:40 am Thursday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol stated the accident occurred before 11 am at the intersection of County Road 272 and Highway P.

Though investigations are ongoing, authorities believe an equipment malfunction caused the crane to collapse. Crews contracted with Robertson Incorporated Bridge and Grading Division were performing construction on a bridge at the intersection.
