Teen Killed in Single-Vehicle Accident in Conroe, Texas

Police in Conroe, Texas say a single-vehicle crash on the North Freeway has left one teen dead and three others injured, according to ABC 13.

About the Fatal Conroe Crash

The accident happened late Sunday evening on the North Freeway between the Gladstell and Loop 336 South exits. A Ford F-150 carrying four teens crashed into a guardrail and rolled over after the driver lost control.

Conroe Police say the driver, identified as a 17-year-old female, was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other teen passengers, one female and two male, were taken to Conroe Regional Hospital in stable condition. ABC 13 is reporting that at least one of the male passengers has been treated and released.

Authorities said that alcohol was not believed to be a factor, however, speed is believed to have been a factor.

The teens were returning from Sunday Teen Night at Johnny B. Daltons Dance Hall.

Of those injuries, approximately 89,270 were considered serious injuries. That year, approximately 39.47 percent of traffic fatalities were caused by single vehicle, run-off the road crashes. Tragically, TxDOT found that there were no deathless days on Texas roadways in 2013.
