Teen Optimistic Following Paralyzing Accident

Tyler Goodwin1 year ago

On September 5th, a North Texas teenager was left paralyzed from the waist down following a single-vehicle accident.

Details of the North Texas Crash

According to FOX 4 News, Aaron McClelen, 17, was traveling along FM 56 outside of Tolar, Texas when he lost control of his pick-up truck causing it to overturn and roll at least three times.

McClelen’s cousin and his dog were also in the truck at the time of the accident, but neither was injured.

While McClelen remembers little of the accident, he did state that he took his eyes of the road to look at CD cases that his cousin, whom he refers to as his brother, was showing him. Though his eyes were only of the road a short time, the vehicle veered and McClelen overcorrected.

McClelen suffered a broken neck and is now paralyzed; however, he remains committed to recovering his ability to walk despite his surgeon’s diagnosis.

Beyond recovering, the persistent, defiant teen’s biggest concern right now is that teenagers learn a lesson from his mistake.
