Teen Suspected of Drinking Before Fatal Pedestrian Accident

Police believe a 16-year-old girl involved in a fatal pedestrian accident in Hudson Oaks on Monday may have been drinking before the incident.

About the Fatal Pedestrian Accident

According to WFAA, the accident happened just after 10 pm near the Wal-Mart in the 2800 block of East Interstate 20.

Authorities arrived to find 58-year-old Marla Z. Carroll unresponsive in the store’s parking lot. Carroll was airlifted to a Fort Worth hospital but died of her injuries on Tuesday.

The 16-year-old driver responsible for the accident has been arrested and charged with accident involving injury or death. Police believe the suspect may have been drinking at the time of the accident and are awaiting toxicology results.
