Teenager Dead After Collision with Tree

A Michigan teenager died on Sunday in a one-vehicle accident when the car he was driving rammed into a tree.

Details about the Accident Involving the Teenager

The Courier is reporting that a teenager from Findlay was killed in a one-car accident on Sunday afternoon on the Marion Township 237, which is just east of the Findlay city limits.

According to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Jay M. Finchum was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The sheriff’s office from Hancock County also reports that Finchum was driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla heading north on the Township road just north of Ohio 568 at around 4:36 p.m. when his vehicle crossed over the southbound lane and went off the west side of the roadway. After going off the roadway, the car then hit a tree.

Emergency crews, including the Washington Township Fire Department, Hanco Ambulance, and Dick’s Towing all responded to the scene of the accident.

The accident remains under investigation, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
