Details about the Accident Involving the Teenager

FOX 4 News Kansas City is reporting that a 17-year-old boy from Odessa was killed in an accident on Tuesday at a location that is known in the area as being a dangerous intersection.

The victim, Arron Specker, was driving a 2004 Ford along Route Z when his vehicle went into the path of an oncoming 2000 Dodge that was being driven by a 49-year-old woman from Bates City.

According to a traffic accident report on the incident, the Dodge vehicle hit the driver’s side of Specker’s Ford. Both of the vehicles then went off the west side of Route Z before finally coming to a rest facing south. Specker was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the Dodge was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Bother of the drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. FOX 4 News received a message and a photo from the accident from a woman on Facebook who prefers to remain anonymous.

Specker was a student at Odessa High School, and the school district released a statement to offer condolences to the family after they were made aware of the accident.
