Teen’s Condition Improving After Being Thrown Off Car

A Corpus Christi teen who was thrown off a vehicle is now showing some signs of improvement, according ot her family.

Details of the Incident

KRIS-TV reports 17-year-old Alex Ayala has come out of her coma and is showing several signs of improvement. Relatives say Ayala is now able to move bother her hands and legs.

Ayala fell into a coma several weeks ago after being thrown of the top of a vehicle in a Corpus Christi parking lot.

Although there haven’t been any charges filed against the driver of the vehicle, police say they do have a witness statement about what occurred that evening.

The following information was provided by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT):

  • 3,534 people were killed in traffic accidents in Texas in 2014, a 3.7-percent increase over the 3,408 deaths recorded in 2013.
