Terrell Woman Killed While Filling Car with Gas

According to Inforney – a news source based out of Kaufman County, Texas, 63-year-old Melinda Dardon, of Terrell, was filling her car with gas near U.S. Highway 80 between Forney and Terrell when she was sturck by a vehicle.

Details about the Fatal Accident in Terrell, Texas

At approximately 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Kyle Bradford says that Dardon ran out of gas in her vehicle and stopped the car in a lane of travel along the roadway. While attempting to refuel her car, she was stuck by a pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup did stop and, according to Bradford, will not face any charges in the accidental death of Dardon.

U.S. Highway 80 was closed while emergency and medical crews responded. CareFlite, The Terrell Volunteer Fire Department, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety all responded to the accident.
