A Texas man was killed in a crash at the Kansas International Dragway.

Details about the Dragway Accident

KWCH News is reporting that a drag racer from Texas was killed after witnesses reported that the vehicle he was driving went off the track at the Kansas International Dragway traveling at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.

A relative of the victim confirmed the death of Jason Lumpkin, of Fort Worth, Texas.

The accident happened at about 1:30 p.m. Lumpkin was taken to Via Christi at St. Francis in critical condition. Witnesses at the scene of the accident say the vehicle may have been traveling in excess of 150 miles per hour when the vehicle began to roll.

There was another accident that was reported in the same spot where Lumpkin lost control of his vehicle. After crossing the finish line, there was less traction on the roadway, which caused the vehicle to lose control and flip several times.
