Jonathan Hernandez10 months ago

An Azle High School senior was killed in a car accident on Monday while on her way to meet her friends.

Details about the Fatal Accident Involving the Student

FOX News 4 is reporting that loved ones of the senior from Azle High School who was killed on Monday are mourning her death.

According to Azle Police, the student, 18-year-old Cassidy Zips, was driving a Ford Explorer heading south when she began to approach the hill on the 1200 block of FM 730. Apparently, Zips tried to avoid hitting another vehicle on the roadway that may have been in her lane.

The Ford Explorer moved quickly to the right and it is beleived she over corrected. The vehicle started to slide and veered back to the left, eventually crossing the center lane directly into the lanes of oncoming traffic. Her vehicle was hit head-on by a pickup truck.

The woman and the child in the pickup truck that collided with the victim’s vehicle were also injured, but police would not release any of the details about the vehicle that Cassidy may have been trying to avoid.

According to investigators, at this time, Cassidy’s death appears to have just been a horrible accident. Not much else is known about the accident, but police are fairly certain that Cassidy was not distracted at the time of the accident.
