Texas Hit-and-Run Victim in a Coma

22-year old Walter Rogers Jr. was reportedly struck by a speeding car on Saturday, May 30. The unknown vehicle sped past, hitting Rogers as he stood on the shoulder of the road.

The driver did not stop, and is currently wanted by police.

Details of the Hit-and-Run

According to the San Patricio County Sheriff’s Office, Rogers was driving home to San Antonio from Corpus Christi when his car broke down on Interstate 37. He was tending to his car when he was struck.

KIII-TV reports that Rogers, on the verge of death, had to be placed into a coma. In addition, his left leg had to be amputated.

Rogers’ family members have recently called for the unknown assailant to come forward and confess. The San Patricio County Sherriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help with the investigation. Individuals with information about the hit and run should call them at 361-364-9600.
