The 2015 graduating class of a Klein Forest High School in Texas suffered a great loss Saturday morning – as they were graduating, they simultaneously lost one of their classmates.

During an interview, the high school Principal Pat Crittendon told ABC News that student Omar Rodas was killed in a car accident on his way to the graduation ceremony.

The graduation ceremony proceeded and Rodas' name was even called to walk the stage as administrators were unaware the fatal incident that had just taken place.

The day after the accident, the students of Klein Forest SHS united to remember and honor the passing of their classmate.

Those who were close to Rodas and those who weren’t all contributed by writing down their favorite memories of Rodas and what Rodas meant to them. The writings were then put it in a memory box that will later be given to Rodas’ family.
