Texas Woman Killed by Alleged Drunk Driver

A Texas man, Clyde Randall Stanbery, 32, is being held on manslaughter charges for an alleged drunk driving accident in Grayson County that left a young woman dead.

Details of the Fatal Accident

According to NBC News, 20-year-old Lizette Lopez was in her car with some family members on Sunday around 4:30 pm when she got out of the vehicle to help a turtle cross the street. After exiting the vehicle she was struck by a vehicle driven by Sanbery.

Stanbery fled the scene but later crashed into a ditch outside of an apartment complex. He then unsuccessfully tried to carjack another driver.

Lopez was rushed to an area hospital but was pronounced dead Sunday evening.
