Three people were killed and another was injured in a West Texas motor vehicle accident.

KLTV News is reporting that three relatives were killed and another was seriously injured in a rollover traffic accident in West Texas, according to investigators.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has indicated that three people in the sport utility vehicle died at the scene of the accident on Tuesday afternoon near Ropesville, which is about 20 miles southwest of Lubbock.

The victims have been identified by the Texas Department of Public Safety as, 42-year-old Linda Rodriguez, 76-year-old Angel Rodriguez, and 11-year-old Jade Villeda, all of whom are from Kress.

Investigators further indicated that Linda Rodriguez, who was driving the sport utility vehicle at the time of the accident, went into the center median and she overcorrected. Due to her overcorrection, the vehicle rolled over into a cotton field.

76-year-old Francisca Rodriguez, the mother of the driver of the sport utility vehicle, was in the car at the time of the accident. Rodriguez was taken to the University Medical Center in Lubbock and was listed in critical condition as of Wednesday.
