Three-Vehicle Accident Leaves 1 Dead Near Lubbock

This Tuesday afternoon, a three-vehicle car accident left one person dead and 5 injured in Lubbock, Texas.

About the Fatal Car Accident

According to KTRE, the accident occurred at the intersection of Farm Road 1585 and Brownfield Highway after 4:30 p.m.

A pickup truck, towing a trailer, was waiting to cross a set of train tracks and head west on FM 1585. A silver Dodge Durango was behind him. Suddenly, a white Chevy Silverado hit the Durango, sending it on top of the trailer. The Silverado came to rest 50 feet from the other two cars.

One person in the Silverado was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other 3 people in truck were injured. The driver and one occupant in the pickup truck were not injured. Two people in the Dodge Durango were taken to the hospital for injuries.

It is too early to tell if alcohol was involved, if the occupants were wearing seatbelts, and if the Silverado was speeding. The names of the victims have not been released.
