Toddler Killed by 18-Wheeler in Bexar County

On July 1st, a young boy was run over by an 18-wheeler at a truck stop in Southwest Bexar County.

Details if the Toddler’s Death

According to the San Antonio Express-News, a one-year-old boy was killed last Wednesday when an 18-wheeler ran over him at a truck stop in Southwest Bexar County.

The child’s father had been fueling up at the truck stop when the child ran through the parking lot toward the store and in front of rig that was pulling out. The rig then ran the one-year-old boy over.

At the time, the toddler had been traveling with his family from Laredo in an 18-wheeler; they had stopped at the Pivot Travel Center close to 10:30 p.m.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene. It was James Keith, Bexar County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, who said that the driver of the rig had not seen the boy when he ran him over.

Keith went on to report that at this time investigators believe the incident to have been an accident and no charges are expected to be filed.
