Tow Truck Driver Killed in Hanover Crash

A tow truck driver is dead following a fatal accident along Interstate 295 in Hanover, Virginia.

About the Fatal Hanover Accident

According to WTVR, the driver of a tow truck was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a sedan along Interstate 295. The tow truck driver was found outside the vehicle after the accident.

As of now, there is no information regarding the other driver’s injuries or if there will be charges pressed against them.

The two right lanes were closed at Meadow Ridge, mile marker 38, but the two left lanes will remain open through the investigation.

  • There were 1,082 more crashes in 2012 than in 2011—a 3.3 percent increase.

  • There also was a 3.7 percent increase in the number of people killed in crashes involving large trucks.
  • Crashes in rural areas increased by 2.3 percent and crashes in urban areas increased by 4.9 percent.
