Toyota Recalling 370,000 Trucks Due to Seat Belt Concerns

Toyota is recalling approximately 370,000 Tacoma Access Cab trucks for potentially faulty seat belts.

About the Toyota Recall

• According to the recall, screws that attach the seatbelt pre-tensioner to the retractor can become loose after repeated closing of the access door.
• The recall concerns vehicle assembled between 2008 and 2011.
• Toyota reported two instances to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. One in November 2011 and a second in February 2012.

Other Recent Toyota Recalls

• The Tacoma saw two previous recalls this year for faulty are bags and a fire hazard.
• The fire hazard, which was correlated to faulty power window switches, resulted in the recall of 7.4 million vehicles.
• Toyota also recalled 310,000 FJ Cruiser SUV’s due to similar seat belt issues earlier this year.
