Trooper Killed Responding to Oklahoma Trucking Accident

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was fatally injured when he was struck by a vehicle while responding to a trucking accident near Shawnee.

About the Fatal Accident

KTEN News reports trooper Nicholas Dees was killed Saturday evening as he responded to a jack-knifed 18-wheeler on Interstate 40.

Reports indicate another vehicle entered the scene of the trucking accident and struck the tractor-trailer before hitting Dees and another trooper.

Dees was pronounced dead at the scene. The other trooper, Keith Burch, was transported to OU Medical Center where he was listed in serious condition.
